Lanyon Homestead lies at the foot of the Brindabellas, just south of Canberra, and is one of Australia’s premier historic properties. The Precinct’s centerpiece, the 1850s Homestead, has been beautifully restored and furnished. Following an informative presentation by our guide the group disbanded and followed their own paths through the Homestead and surrounding grounds. The occasion, which comprised members, family and guests, was very successful and was particularly well received by our visiting Brethren. Of note is that our guests included Mr Rhys Summergreene, who had also joined us accompanied by his partner, Laura, at our recent Annual Lodge Dinner; and Bro. Jagjeet (Jag) Basant, a regular visitor to our Lodge, with his partner. Jag may well find himself invited as an affiliate member given his continuing and most welcomed support for our Lodge. The Lanyon Homestead tour was organised, with appreciation, by VW Bro. David Slater.
