Annual Lodge Dining Night Print
Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:00

Annual Lodge DinnerThe occasion was the Annual Lodge Commonwealth of Australia Dinner hosted this year at the Yowani Country Club on Thursday 22nd of April. The dinner was organised by our ever resourceful Treasurer and Social Committee President, RW Bro. Warren Turton, with I'm sure just a little assistance from Marie Turton.

The meal comprised three courses with two options for each course. The occasion was attended by some 43 members and guests including: RW Bro. Graham Charlton, RGC Region 10; Bro. Randy and Sylvia Walton, Randy has recently joined the Lodge; Jean Main; Anne Morris; Norma Stacy; Bro. Jeff and Cate Moon, Jeff is affiliating with the Lodge in the near future; and Mr Rhys Summergreene and partner Laura, special guests of VW Bro. David Slater.

The DC, VW Bro. Graeme Moller, introduced the WM who welcomed our guests and made particular mention of VW Bro. Bob and Lynette Swift's 64th wedding anniversary, and thanked John and Jill Bellchambers who, as members of the Yowani Country Club, sponsored our Dining Night. Graeme subsequently introduced Warren Turton who left us all spellbound after reciting with precision both The Man from Snowy River and The Man from Ironbark.

Brethren who reside in the northern suburbs were particularly pleased because Lodge functions and events are typically held within or south of the CBD. Regrettably no cameras were available to record this very successful event in the Lodge's annual calendar.

This event was scheduled to replace our regular April meeting which was postponed to Saturday, 1st May, to better accommodate the fraternal visit by Lodge Concord Technology from Sydney.
