Sunday, 22 August, saw Lodge Commonwealth return to the Griffin Centre in support of the Feeding the Needy community project. W Bro Robert Guth, our Senior Warden, once again elected to prepare the meals at his home and transport the same, with only minutes to spare, to the Griffin Centre.
Lodge Commonwealth of Australia attended, as a fraternal, the Re-Installation of W Bro. Mervyn Maher at Lodge Concord Technology, in Sydney's inner suburbs, on Saturday 14 August. Our respective Lodges have maintained a historic fraternal relationship extending over 61 years. The seven departed the northern suburbs of Canberra at 1:30pm on the annual sojourn.
On the evening of Thursday, 29 July, the Brethren of Lodge Commonwealth accompanied by their ladies and families attended the quarterly social function at the Saigon Restaurant. The banquet consisted of two entrees and five main courses followed by tea and coffee. The function was again organised by RW Bro Warren Turton to whom we express our sincere appreciation.
The occasion was the Installation of Lodge Perfect. On Saturday, 24 July, Commonwealth attended Lodge Perfect to support the Installation of W Bro Patrick McMaster. The Deputy Grand Master, RW Bro. Derek Robson, was in attendance supported by the GDC, VW Bro. Antoine Georges, and Grand Sword Bearer VW Bro. Terry Peek.
On Sunday, June 27, Lodge Commonwealth again participated in one of the District's coordinated community activities - Feeding the Needy. This activity is not only a worthy service to our local community, but one in which Masons can attend and practice our principles without having to be concerned with the overall management of the project.
