On the evening of Thursday, 24 June, Mr Rhys Summergreene was admitted to our ancient and honourable Order. Rhys and partner Laura have attended several recent Lodge events namely our annual dinner, and our social function at Lanyon Homestead. We welcome Rhys and Laura to Lodge Commonwealth.

Rhys' ceremony was attended by: VW Bro. Peter Bindon, DGIW 103; W Bro. Phil Higgs, WM Lodge Ethos, supported by a fraternal delegation including W Bro. Rudi Koch, Bro. Craig Revell, JW, Bro. Ken Rowland and Bro. Simon Vanholland who had himself been Initiated only the week before; W Bro. Alan Carnall, WM Lodge Gowrie, with his SW, W Bro. Malcolm Mann.

Rhys was an exemplary candidate whose manner, together with the excellent ceremony and ritual displayed by the officers and other participants, resulted in a magnificent ceremony befitting this important first step in a Brother's journey in Freemasonry.

W Bro. Robert Guth, SW, yet again held the Festive Board in the palm of his hands as members and visitors alike enjoyed pea and ham soup which effectively removed the chill from the typical Canberra winter. Robert was ably assisted by our Steward, Bro. Nicholas McCaskie. We also acknowledge RW Bro. Horrie Holt who attended our meeting as Organist in place of W Bro. John Le Mesurier who is recovering from pneumonia. We thank Robert, Nicholas and Horrie for making the ceremony and evening a memorable event for Rhys.
